Sanjay Van 10 Mile Hike On 16th October 2016

The day started off with a bunch of energetic scouts, most of whom were excited to go for the hike ( Yay! We're going to hike ten miles!! ). As we started walking, we noticed many things, such as the abundant forest wildlife and numerous thorny plants, which stabbed multiple peoples shoes ( myself included ) and generally caused a nuisance. And as we were walking, we noticed numerous pleasant and amazing sites, such as: The Qutb Minar, rising in the distance, A wonderful smelling sewer, spewing its scent into the air, A lake so clogged with muck and slime up that if you threw a rock into it, it would bounce back with a splash, Several wrong turns in the paths, which left us completely confused and lost, A temple overrun by goats, And finally, at the very end, a troop of monkeys swinging above a lake, a dead cow lying below them ( there were several arguments on whether it was sleeping or simply just deceased, having being killed by the monkeys : as you can see, the conversations were very pleasant) And then, at last, a wonderful gate through which the weary scouts climbed through and dropped into their cars, feasting on the chocolate and soft drinks kindly provided by Mr.Max.

posted Sep 15, 2012, 5:45 AM by Unknown user   [ updated Sep 15, 2012, 5:49 AM ]

Instead of a camp-out / trek in the Valley of the Flowers, we are planning a local camp-out at Lake Damdama September 28-30th‏.  (This is on Sohna Road, past the Fortune hotel in Gurgaon).

The plan would be to reach Lake Damdama Friday evening 6pm, to camp all day Saturday.  We will look into arranging a ropes course (Burma Bridge, Upside Down Crawl and a Flying Fox).  Scouts will also stay Saturday night and the pack-out would be planned for noon on Sunday.  More details will come soon.

Please email scoutmaster@bsatroop.in if you are planning to attend.
